Arise'O'Nigeria #ShowSomeLove Empowerment program ends in grand style


 The talk of town Arise'O Nigeria Empowerment program (Show Some  love) was finally held on Saturday 18th February, 2017 at the God's kingdom society, Liasu road Egbe, Alimosho LGA, Lagos which recorded over 1000 people in attendance and of course delivered the promises to the people of Egbe-Idimu, Alimosho.

 The general health ‎check up & free eye test took place with over 500 free recommended eye glasses given out, ‎150 Free Jamb and GCE forms, t-shirts and exercise books were also given out by the Tonto Dikeh  Foundation and some Nigerian beauty queens like Ifunanya IGBOBI, Queen Lilian Oparaodu (Arise'O'Nigeria Ambassador), Queen Katrina ( Miss New Nigeria) all supported the program with co branded exercise books and gift items.

The center for the blind displayed their beautiful crafts for exhibition and many young talented youths displayed their musical talents as lots of gifts were given out to winners who participated in the quiz competition.
Inspirational speakers from all spares of live ‎gave touching speeches to counsel the members of the public.

Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Early Career Academic Grants for Developing Countries 2017/2018


 Early Career Academic Grants are open to early career academics employed by ACU member universities, enabling them to participate in a conference held in a Commonwealth country other than their own.

Eligibility: 
  • At the time of application, applicants must be employed in an academic role by an ACU member institution.
  • Applications are open to university staff who are less than ten years from the start of their employment in an academic role.
  • Applicants must not have previously worked or attended an academic conference outside their home region.
  • Academic staff who have recently returned to work after a career break can also be considered: applicants to whom this criteria applies should make this clear in their application.
Selection Criteria: Applicants can strengthen their application by providing evidence of the submission/acceptance of a paper or poster, or other communication with the conference organisers. It is highly recommended that applicants attach this evidence to their application form.

About Scholarship:The MILEAD Fellows Program is a long-term leadership development program designed to identify, develop and promote emerging young African female leaders to attain and thrive in leadership in their communities and Africa as a whole. The program targets dynamic young women interested in developing transformational leadership skills that help them address issues facing women and girls across communities in Africa.
The MILEAD Program equips Fellows with the world class knowledge, skills, values and networks they need to succeed as 21st century women leaders.

By what Criteria is Selection Made? The MILEAD Fellowship will be awarded to outstanding young women who have exhibited leadership potential in their community, organization, and/or profession.
Who is eligible to apply? To be eligible for the one-year program, an applicant must:
  • be African, living on the continent or in the Diaspora;
  • agree to participate in all required activities related to MILEAD – including a three-week residential Summer Institute in Ghana;
  • commit to a community change project
  • be between 19 – 25 years of age.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme – TEEP – to offer 10,000 aspiring African Entrepreneurs an opportunity to benefit from $100 million grant to create 1,000,000 jobs and contribute $10 billion in annual revenues to Africa’s economy over the next 10 years.

Elumelu made the commitment on Monday during a press conference in Lagos to announce the launch of The Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP).

  • In 2015, TEEP empowered 1,000 African entrepreneurs, selected from over 20,000 applicants, with start-up investment, active mentoring, business training, an entrepreneurship boot camp and regional networking across Africa.
  • Entrepreneurs, with an average age range of 21-40, from 51 African countries completed the programme and received $5,000 in seed capital for their start-up businesses.
  • The Tony Elumelu Foundation invested a total of $4,860,000, including $1,405,000 in agriculture; $410,000 in education and training; and $365,000 in manufacturing.  The sector-agnostic programme funded start-ups across a further 20 industries, all based in Africa.

The Federal Scholarship Board by the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria is now offering the 2017/2018 Bilateral Educational Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students to study Overseas. 
Application Deadline: The 2017/2018 BEA interviews are between Monday 13th February – Thursday 16th February 2017 across the six geopolitical zones. Candidates are advised to apply online before these dates.

Eligibility Criteria

• Undergraduate Scholarship:
  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secoundary School Certificate, WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2015 & 2016).
  • Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.
• Postgraduate Scholarship:
  • All applicants must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
  • The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria.
  • All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C.
  • Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.
• Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign languare of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction

  • One certificate is accepted i.e WAEC of May/June only; • Statement of results must be confirmed by WAEC and forwarded to the Director/Secretary, Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja;
  • Two copies of Birth certificate
  • State of Origin/LGA certificate duly signed, stamped and dated;
  • Four (4) passport sized coloured photographs on white background;
